The 2014 Open Enrollment period for health insurance has ended. The 2015 Open Enrollment period begins November 15, 2014. You may still apply for coverage if you have certain life events that involve a change in your family or loss of other health coverage. You may also apply for Medicaid at any time. Senior Companion Program

In 2013, over 79,000 hours of in-home service were provided to seniors in need. The goals of the Senior Companion Program, which is administered by Blue Grass Community Action Partnership, include keeping seniors living independently in their own homes and providing relief to overburdened family members facing the demands of care giving. For more information on volunteering or receiving services, contact the Senior Companion Program at 1-800-456-6517 or your local senior citizens center.

Education-Disability Specialist

The Blue Grass Head Start Program is accepting applications for the position of Education-Disability Specialist at Central Office.  This is a 40 hour per week position.  The individual chosen for this position will be responsible for formulation, coordination, monitoring and implementation of the Education and Disability (including mental health) components in accordance with the Performance Standards. This position requires a minimum of a baccalaureate or advanced degree in early childhood education with experience teaching preschool-age children. It is also preferred that the individual has experience using the CLASS monitoring too. Applicant must also possess a current driver’s license.  The Head Start Program will pay for initial physical examination including TB skin test for the applicant selected for the position. PRN Support Services Assistant

Blue Grass Community Action Partnership is accepting applications for PRN Support Services Assistants to provide in-home Respite Services in Lexington, Frankfort, Georgetown, Versailles, Lawrenceburg, Paris, Lancaster, Nicholasville, Stanford, Harrodsburg and Danville. All applicants must have a current Kentucky Driver's license, current automobile insurance and a personal vehicle to use for job duties. Blue Grass Community Action Partnership is accepting applications for qualified HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing Contractors for an Approved Contractors List. Approved contractors will be responsible for the performance of electrical work, repairs and/or replacement of heating systems, water heaters etc. Work will be conducted on houses and mobile homes in Anderson, Boyle, Franklin, Garrard, Jessamine, Lincoln, Mercer, Scott and Woodford Counties. Services are funded by the Weatherization Assistance Program through the Department of Energy and Kentucky Housing Corporation for eligible applicants at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level. Each job will bid separately and awarded to the best bid submitted within the five day timeframe. You must be on the BGCAP Approved Contractors List in order to submit a bid. Nutrition Meal Delivery Driver/PRN - Fayette County

PRN/CNA - Adult Day Program

Blue Grass Community Action Partnership is accepting applications for an Adult Day PRN CNA to cover five counties. Senior Companion Program-Volunteers

The Senior Companion Program is an opportunity for persons age 55 and older who meet federal income guidelines to render assistance with activities of daily living to older, homebound adults. As Senior Companions, volunteers assist clients for 20 hours per week and receive a tax-free stipend of $2.65 per hour. This income is not reported as income and will not affect entitlement programs such as food stamps. Volunteers receive 40 hours of paid training initially and 4 hours of paid training each month in issues of importance to senior adults. If interested please call 502-848-8715. M/F/H/V, EOE and ETO.
