Mercer-Boyle County Head Start - Assistant Teacher/Bus Driver

The Blue Grass Head Start Program is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Teacher/Bus Driver at their center in Mercer County. This position will be 30 hours per week. Individuals applying for this position must possess a valid driver’s license with a 5-year good driving record. CDL License is preferred, but not required. The CDL License can be obtained (in a reasonable amount of time) after employment. Applicant is required to have a high school diploma or equivalent and it is preferred that the applicant also have a minimum of a Child Development Associate (CDA). The CDA can be obtained after being hired. The Head Start Program will pay for initial physical examination including TB skin test for the applicant selected for the position. Applicant can not have been convicted of a sex crime, child abuse or neglect/922KAR 2:110 or any other felony. Woodford County Head Start - Lead Teacher Position

Blue Grass Head Start is accepting applications for the position of Lead Teacher at Woodford County Head Start. It is preferred that applicants have a BA in early childhood education, but will consider individuals with an AA who are willing to work towards earning a BA. Applicants should also have experience in teaching preschool children. The position will involve teaching children years 3 to 4 years old and assisting in the encouragement of parent involvement. Those applying should possess a current driver’s license with a 5-year good driving record. The Head Start Program will pay for initial physical examination including TB skin test for the applicant selected for the position. All candidates must pass an initial drug screen and if hired will be required to submit to random testing. The Community Developer is responsible for coordinating and providing assistance to residents of the county who meet income guidelines. Good computer skills and excellent communication skills are a must for this position. Knowledge of the local community and other Social Service agencies in the County is preferred.

Benefits include annual and sick leave, health, vision, dental, and life insurance as well as a retirement plan.

Nutrition Meal Delivery Driver/PRN - Fayette County

Senior Companion Program-Volunteers

The Senior Companion Program is an opportunity for persons age 55 and older who meet federal income guidelines to render assistance with activities of daily living to older, homebound adults. As Senior Companions, volunteers assist clients for 20 hours per week and receive a tax-free stipend of $2.65 per hour. This income is not reported as income and will not affect entitlement programs such as food stamps. Volunteers receive 40 hours of paid training initially and 4 hours of paid training each month in issues of importance to senior adults. BGCAP is seeking persons interested in becoming Private Auto providers for the Region 8 Human Service Transportation Delivery (HSTD) Brokerage program to provide Medicaid Transportation in the counties of Anderson, Boyle, Casey, Franklin, Garrard, Jessamine, Lincoln, Mercer, Scott, Washington and Woodford.
