What does Bluegrass Community Action - Franklin County Community Developer do????
LIHEAP accepting applicants - Blue Grass Community Action Partnership is now operating the crisis portion of the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program. The program is operated on a first come, first served basis until funds are exhausted.
LIHEAP assists households that are in a home heating crisis. The deepening of cold winter weather combined with rising utility costs leaves many households unable to fully meet heating bills or purchase sufficient bulk fuel to keep their families safe and warm.
Last year, more than 1,182 residents of Franklin County received financial assistance and emergency services from the LIHEAP crisis component. For qualification criteria or to fill out an application, contact BGCAP at 73 C. Michael Davenport Blvd., Monday-Thursday from 8 a.m. to noon. Call 695-5615 for more information.
LIHEAP is a statewide initiative sponsored by Community Action Kentucky in partnership with the Cabinet for Health and Family Services.
Pleasant Pantry and Camp Closet - are open on Monday and Saturday 10 am - 1 pm. Groceries are provided for residents in the northern and eastern parts of Franklin County. Proof of residence is required. Clothing for the whole family are offered for free, regardless of what part of the county a patron may live in. Camp Pleasant is located at 830 Shadrick Ferry Road in Frankfort.
First Baptist Clothes Closet located at 201 St. Clair Street in Frankfort will be open Thursday from 9:00 - 11:30 am. Please enter at the front door.
Farmdale Opens Clothes Closet - Farmdale Baptist Church is beginning a clothes closet ministry at their building at 5610 US 127 South in Frankfort on Saturday from 9:00 - 11:00 am. Mens, women's and children's clothing will be available.
