The goal of the Aging programs of Blue Grass Community Action is to see that the elderly clients receive the necessary services to help them remain independent in their homes.  The Senior Citizens Centers in Anderson, Bourbon,  Garrard, Jessamine, Scott  and Woodford counties provide meals, transportation and an outlet for socialization.  The Homecare Program, located in each center, provides in-home services to the frail, elderly, sixty years or older, and is designed to help at-risk clients remain in their homes.

The Adult Day Health Programs in Anderson, Jessamine, Garrard and Woodford counties provide relief for the caregiver. The program provides a stimulating and supportive environment, individual personal care and therapeutic activities.  The participants are afforded an opportunity to continue to meet their social, emotional and physical needs while improving control of physical and mental functioning.

The Senior Community Employment Service Program (Title V) trains persons 55 and older at one of the host agencies to help them become more employable.  This program provides training that assists with finding unsubsidized private  employment.  Each Title V  participant works twenty hours per week performing various job duties at their host Agency.

The Senior Companion Program, funded by the Corporation for National Service (CNS) and United Way, provides supportive person-person services to the homebound frail elderly who are at risk institutionalization without assistance. The program also provides volunteer service opportunities for active low-income seniors that build self esteem and contribute to their mental and physical well-being. The Senior Companion volunteers are provided benefits which include a tax-free stipend, an annual physical exam and reimbursement for travel cost.  This program helps the senior volunteer remain a viable, contributing member of the community by providing assistance to "at risk" elderly who need extra support in order to maintain their independent status.

A new program that Bluegrass Community Action Partnership is offering is the Nutrition Program for the Elderly.  This program   provides management for congregate and home delivered meals for twenty nutrition sites.
